Staff & Leadership
In 1961, the Lord sent a Mexican Indian baby boy into the home of Chuck and Charla Pereau, a Los Angeles fireman and a housewife with four children. As their love for him grew, so did their compassion for the countless other homeless, orphaned and abandoned children who roamed the streets and mountains of Mexico. Thus, the vision of a mission and home for needy children was born at Vicente Guerrero, Baja California, Mexico. Now, hundreds of children have received care and been introduced to Jesus Christ because two ordinary people responded when Jesus said, “…when you have done it unto the least of these you have done it unto Me.” (Matthew 25:45)
It has been more than four decades, and the ministry has expanded beyond all expectations. There are now three Homes for Needy Children in Mexico: Vicente Guerrero in Baja California, Morelia, Michoacán, and Tlacolula, Oaxaca, and a Student House in Tijuana, Baja California. Charla committed herself to go wherever she was called on behalf of these children and His Ministry. She spends countless hours traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Australia, sharing her testimony. Chuck often accompanies her and ministers in song. Souls have been saved and many more have been inspired to serve the Lord more fully after hearing her remarkable story. Charla speaks at conferences, retreats, Women’s Aglow International, mother-daughter banquets, churches, and service organizations – building faith in the Body of Christ, introducing Jesus as Savior, Redeemer and miraculous Healer, making a strong statement of God’s adequate provision for every need, and inspiring others to accept God’s strength and comfort available to all.
