Disabled Children Dayhome

The Lord is blessing our ministry to the disabled.  After renovating a space in the medical center, the Disabled Children's Ministry (formerly called Mephibosheth Ministry) has been providing physical therapy, education and life skills training for these precious children. For children in this program, the goal is to help them develop so that they can eventually integrate into a traditional school setting.

Mary Kos oversees the daily program, and is greatly aided by Juanita who is herself in a wheelchair.  She was injured in an accident 11-12 years ago, which left her paralyzed and bed-ridden.  She was discovered during an outreach visit, and the Angel Ministry soon outfitted her with a wheelchair.  Soon, she was coming to the Mission to read books to the children in the Guaderia (Day Care Center).  They loved her, and she loved being part of God's kingdom, serving.  She is a young woman, in her early 30's, today serving in the Disable Children's Ministry, teaching the school-aged children who have no other access to an education.
