Chuck Pereau singing at the Baja Mission
|
Charles Dana Pereau (Chuck) began his journey with His Ministry in 1961 when a Oaxacan infant boy came into their home, and into Chuck’s heart. From that moment, Curtis was his son.
Chuck was born in Rolla, MO in 1929. He worked for the L.A. Fire Department for 30 years – 28 years riding the rig, and two more as a fire inspector. Chuck was on that first trip to the Baja with Charla and friends, and for many years after, drove truck after truck loaded with food and supplies for the Mission. He served tirelessly to help the poor in Mexico, always having a soft heart for the kids.
Through it all, he sang. And even today in his retirement, he continues to lend his talent to the musical events in Laguna Woods. And wherever he might be, one can ask him for a song and he will gladly give it. His rich, strong voice will easily touch your heart.
