Our Ministries - Helping the Poor - Food & Clothing

At the heart of the Missions is The Outreach Ministry to the poor.  Food and clothing for hundreds of destitute families is given away in the name of Jesus Christ.

Needs are evaluated during in-home visits and a card is issued to needy families that allow them to receive food once a month and clothing every six months at the Outreach Window in the old theater in Baja. Those with marginal needs are invited to participate in our Wholesale Pantry Program, where several basic foods are purchased in bulk quantities, packaged and sold below our cost.

Blankets and tarps are provided free of cost to those in need.  Blankets, quilts and afghans are received - many of them preciously handmade - from donors near and far.   Layettes packed into plastic baby bathtubs are given to new mothers in the labor camps. These tubs serve as a bed for the newborn babies who might otherwise be laid on the ground or placed in a cardboard box.

From Monday through Saturday, the Soup Kitchen serves a free meal to anyone who is hungry. Generally, 30 to 100 people are fed to strengthen their bodies, and hear the Good News of Jesus Christ presented by one of the staff to strengthen their spirits. During the meal, a Christian video is shown. Many have come to know and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord, Savior, and Provider in the soup kitchen.
