Tijuana Student Home

The Tijuana Student Home - known as the TJ House - was established in the late 1970's for our children who wanted to continue their education. In accordance with the Mission Vision and Purpose, we are committed to raising up Christians who will be the future leaders of Mexico. This home is located within walking distance of the University and the Technological School, and can house up to 20 students. We provide room, board and tuition for these young men and women.

The houseparents, Carlos and Lulu Garcia, provide loving encouragement for the students in both their studies and in living a committed live for Christ. Most of these young people are children who were raised at the orphanage or are children of Mission staff. Depending on space availablity, other needy applicants are accepted from time to time. Carlos and Lulu help the students host a weekly youth meeting, inviting young men and women from the local community to particpate in worship and Bible study. From 80 to 100 students attend this meeting each week.

Our residents are pursuing education in a wide variety of fields of study, including chemical and electrical engineering, odontology (dentistry), medicine and nursing, international relations, social work, business administration, chemistry, biology, and biopharmacology. Many of our past students have successful, productive careers in medicine and dentistry, engineering, business, international relations, and outreach ministries.

Please pray that this ministry will thrive, that God will grant stength and wisdom to the houseparents, and that leaders will continue to be raised up in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord".
