Baja Mission

In 1966 Chuck and Charla Pereau founded the ministry as a small orphange, which has since grown to become a thriving, multi-faceted ministry.  Today eighty plus needy and/or abandoned children are provided the necessities of life in a loving, Christian environment at the Mission. The Mission provides seven family units for 12 children between the ages of 2 years to 20 years. A Christian couple or single moms live in each household providing care in a loving atmosphere. Our nursery provides round the clock care for new borns through toddlers. Infants with special needs, such as cleft lip palate or other physical disabilities, are cared for by an experienced couple. . Each child is part of a family group, which includes both privileges and obligations.

Our children receive spiritual instruction in God's Word as it applies to practical daily living.

Academic studies begin at preschool age. It is required that each child attend school while they live at the Mission. A Christian K through 6 school is on the campus. Tutoring is provided for children with special needs. Each child is taught English as a second language. Being bilingual will assure future employment in Mexico.

The children receive music instruction and through participation in musical drama presentations, are learning to reach others in their community with the Gospel. The Mission has also hosted very successful workshops in the Arts, and we welcome Spanish-speaking educators to offer their talents for a few days.

Physical education comes naturally to the children at the Mission, and they daily enjoy many sports such as soccer, track & field, baseball, and basketball.

At twelve years of age, the boys are moved into the "bunk house," complete with houseparent’s. Apprenticeship training in the trades of construction, mechanics, printing, and upholstery is being developed. A small agricultural research station, specializing in fruit, is also a vocational teaching tool.

(Note: We are sorry, but we are unable to facilitate adoptions. We are not licensed in the United States or Mexico as an adoption agency.)
