Outreach - Child Evangelism
Child evangelism and discipleship reaches out to the children of our area through weekly Bible classes held at over a dozen locations in the Baja.
Mission staff, Bible Institute students, and visitors pile into old vans and make the bumpy trip to the various locations in the area where children's Bible classes are held each week. A short distance from the appointed spot for the day’s class, the van horn is blown and the announcement is shouted from a bull horn; little children begin to appear, running from all around to the makeshift schoolroom, carrying a cup for milk and a spoon for peanut butter. The outreach staff know many by name, and are always glad to see new faces. Praise songs are sung, a Bible stores is illustrated; there is a craft to do, and scripture verses to memorize, all teaching Christian principles to these little missionaries of the future. The attentiveness of the children is amazing.

After the class, a cup of milk and a scoop of peanut butter are received with great relish. Well over 1,000 children attend these classes every week. The openness and acceptance of the little ones is touching to Mission visitors who ride along on these trips and who gladly play with them - blowing soap bubbles, swinging the jump rope.
In the Baja our Mission Church hosts fiestas for the children. They are bused in from migrant camps to attend. At Christmas thousands of children are given gifts and hear the gospel message.

The Outreach Staff and visitors also provide other special help to children in the camps, such as hair washing and delousing, foot washing and shoes, games, food, and clothing. If your visiting group would like to do something like this, please contact our office in advance of your visit.
