Praise Reports:

. Thank you for praying for Janice & Janelle when out on their road trip to Redding this past weekend. It was a blessed and fun time for them both. They were very warmly received by our friends at WINGS (Women in God’s Service) and in Redding Christian Fellowship (RCF). In addition to their speaking engagements while up in Redding, they had time to enjoy a beautiful hike to Whiskey Town Falls, visits to the famous Sundial Bridge and Simpson College, a ride on a Harley along with frequent visits and treats at Starbucks. They came home loaded with gifts, a very generous financial donation & greatly encouraged by the prayerful & practical support so faithfully and generously extended to “the least of these” by our beloved northern CA friends. Click here for some more photos of their time with WINGS!

. FFHM Board member Carrie Irving was privileged to represent Charla and present a powerpoint to the Missions’ Committee of Hollywood Presbyterian Church (HPC), CA. The HPC Missions’ Secretary, Ana Kerr, has faithfully led this committee and recorded our monthly prayer requests in the HPC Prayer Dairy ensuring that FFHM and Charla are daily lifted to the Lord in intercessory prayer. Father we thank you. Father, now bless Ana & all in HPC.

. The Oaxaca Mission are pleased to announce the arrival of three beautiful new children to their Nursery/Cuna. Twin boys, Luis Angel and Luis Antonio and little sister Kaymi, were abandoned by their mother up in the Mixe Mountains. Their dad brought them to his family in the city of Oaxaca but they were soon asked to leave. Finding no other place to go, the Oaxaca Mission opened their doors to these three little ones. Please pray the children and their dad will soon come to know the Lord. Pray too that we can soon link the children with loving sponsors who will help make a difference in their lives.

Give thanks for the teen boys who are exerting a very positive influence on Jose and providing him with some exceptionally fine  role models. This past week Charla received a call from a dear friend saying she had just read the April Mission News (check our website – www.ffhm.org -  if you haven’t read it) and would like to match the money needed to repair or replace the old 1973 water truck that was used to deliver water to the needy in our community of the Baja. Give thanks and ask the Lord to bless the donor! Father, we thank you!

Give thanks for the recent visit of a work group from Beaver Creek Community Church (BCCC), OR to the Oaxaca Mission. FFHM Board member, Chuck Braun, was the leader of the work group. BCC provided invaluable support to the tired Mission staff by helping  dismantle everything from the recent medical outreach and help set up for the AMO Conference.

BCC a help in time of need to the Oaxaca Mission!

. The Baja Mission are also giving thanks for the visit of a great workgroup from Shores Fellowship Church (SFC), Ocean Shores, WA. Rick Shatto, Maintenance Supervisor, at the Baja Mission, was so blessed to have his father come as a member of the team. What a gift!

. For the 5th year in a row, St. Johnsbury Rotary Club, VT have sent us a very generous gift to help promote literacy at our Baja Mission school.  Fellow Rotarian, Rosie Smith, Bulverde, TX, herself a strong FFHM/CPSM supporter, has most graciously matched this gift. The children of our Oasis School will be soon be the recipients of new books because of these generous gifts! Give thanks and ask the Lord’s continued blessing on these wonderful Rotarians.

The Oaxaca Mission hosted an AMO Teacher Training Conference from May 7-11 for teachers from all over Mexico. Deborah Pedraza, who grew up at our Baja Mission attended the conference. Deborah grew up at the Baja Mission when her mom Elizabeth was on staff. She recently graduated with a degree in law but has decided to become a teacher in our Disabled Children’s Learning Center. Give thanks for Christina Inchaustegui, the AMO presenter, Chris McReynolds, the AMO coordinator, who traveled to Oaxaca to lead the conference as well as the Oaxaca Mission staff who provided warm hospitality. Once again special thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Youmans, AMO founder and her Executive AMO teamDr. Jill Thrift, Rick Lane and Christi Moorman – who invited us to freely access this outstanding educational curriculum.

The Oaxaca Mission are asking for prayer for Jessica Perkins who has returned to Canada after serving in Oaxaca for the past 16 months. Jessica contributed a great deal in the successful launch of our ACE/AMO/SEP Primary School where she was a music teacher. Her final gift to all at the Mission was a recorder concert performed by her students. Please pray for a teacher to replace Jesssica. Please also pray that she will make a smooth transition back into life in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
