May is a month of honoring our mothers and serves as an opportunity for us to honor Judi Wineroth, who was an absolute joy to His Ministry and to the countless lives she touched.
Her love for God shone so brightly and she held a special place in our hearts. We first met the Wineroths when they came to our home in 1990 and shared their experience at the Baja Mission and the need for the house parents to have a time of refreshing.
Judi had been a foster parent and knew how critical R &R was when serving day-in and day-out. They purchased a lot at Costa Brava for a beach house that could serve that purpose for the house parents at the mission.
In 1992, Barry took a group of Youth With a Mission and 14 of our teenagers to the Barcelona Olympics. This provided an unforgettable opportunity for the teenagers at the Mission to experience ministry and travel to Spain!
In the decades that followed they gave sacrificially to His Ministry. They served thousands of meals in the migrant camps, washed little bare feet, and provided shoes. The poorest of the poor were blessed with loving care.
For many years Judi and Barry were the heart of Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations. The YWAM team served thousands of hot dogs wrapped in tortillas with of course a little hot salsa.
Judi leaves a legacy of unconditional love. “Well done, good and faithful servant”
