FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER
Cinco de Mayo, May 5th is our FFHM monthly prayer group dinner. Sam Parsons, our roving Troubadour, who visits nursing homes all over Orange County will be with us to minister in song and Word. All are welcome. We meet promptly at 6 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of the Cross, 24231 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods, CA 92637. You can still RSVP by calling the US office at (949)492-2200. The dinner is $7.
Our beloved friend, May Peterson, who’s life reflected the love of Jesus, was part of the original prayer group and served on the FFHM board for 25 years. Mary left us for Heaven May 3rd. Services to be announced.
SOME OF OUR BIBLE INSTITUE STUDENTS
Janelle writes: I heard the frightening news on Sunday evening from Mario Cordoba, our Mission Pastor. Five of the Bible Institute students had been in a serious accident. The driver of the other vehicle was killed. There were several students with broken bones. They were taken to Buen Pastor Hospital in San Quintin.
Alfonso Aranda (broken ribs)
Cesar Perez (hurt neck)
Jesus Marquez (broken knees)
Jose Juan Martinez (broken nose)
Gabriela Alcaraz would be transferred to Ensenada.
I knew Charla was speaking at Mission Night at Osborne Neighborhood Church, so I called her to ask for prayer. Ross and Jan Lang and others in the congregation prayed for these students. The next morning we heard from Mario that the prayers had been answered. There were no broken bones; a miraculous answer to prayer.
Since the accident, we found that the driver of the other car had a heart attack. Amazingly, the total amount charged at Buen Pastor Hospital was $550, which covered all emergency medical care for all five students. It would have been thousands here in the U.S. Please pray with us that this expense will be covered.
CHERYL TREVOR WITH TWO OF HER CHILDREN
Cheryl Trevor is in need of carpel tunnel surgery on her hands. Dr. Mark Eanes told her that if she continues without surgery, there will be permanent damage. Cheryl has been a priceless asset to this ministry, overseeing our Outreach, our Night in Bethlehem productions, and presently, all of our educational programs at the Baja Mission. Cheryl is a single mom with three young children. She will be coming to the U.S. for surgery. Please pray for a total restoration and a complete recovery. Thank you.
HUGO & LIZETTE, SINALOA ADMINISTRATORS
The negotiations on the purchase of the property in Sinaloa have not gone well. Please continue to pray for wisdom and His guidance related to this purchase.
DALE AND CHUCK HARD AT WORK
Sorry, no contributions of "stuff" to the warehouse during the month of May. Our warehouseman has retired. Believe it or not, this warehouse is almost empty, so we are going to take this opportunity to do the much-needed painting and repairs. Poor Chuck Pereau had to make preparation for the painting project; moving 20 ft. racks, boxes of books, furniture, etc. But God came to the rescue again. He sent Dale Forsse, an old friend, recently retired. We had a wonderful plan for Dale's life, and he spent the day lifting and pushing and shoving.
Janelle Keller, Executive Director, is on vacation. Please pray that she will have fun, rest, and relaxation.
Corrine Ehrick celebrated her 88th birthday on May 2nd. Corrine is well and happy in a retirement home near her beloved family. Jim and Suzie (who once worked in our nursery) visit her regularly. Corrine says the best years of her life were spent at the Mission.for a number of years. The doctors are going to try a different procedure. Please pray for Pat’s healing. Thank you.
